Emily Kabuye Nyanzi

Emily Nyanzi is an economist by training. She is a project manager/research and capacity building coordinator working with the UVRI Research and Capacity Building and Networking office since July 2010. She possess several training certificates in monitoring and evaluation, effective policy communication and graduated with a master of Arts degree in Economic Policy and Management (2005)- Makerere University. She has a passion for research for health policy obtained from working closely with the health policy and planning department at Ministry of health-Uganda for the last 12 years. 

Emily Nyanzi is the M&E Assistant/Administrator  for the THRIVE- 2 UVRI

Health policy research that contributes to improving welfare and poverty alleviation of the communities in the region. She has research interests in Adolescent and HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB, NIDs and capacity building initiatives.

Emily Nyanzi is currently the training and capacity building coordinator for UVRI since 2013. She has worked on a number of capacity building initiatives and short term grants over the last 7 years. Before that she served as a project manager for the EDCTP funded East African Consortium for Clinical Research (EACCR) July 2010 -2015 and research coordinator for the Canada Africa Prevention Trials Partnership (CAPT –N) up to December 2014. Before joining the Uganda Virus Research Institute, Emily was working as an Economist and technical Assistant on the National Insurance Health Scheme project with the health policy and planning department at the Ministry of Health headquarters- Uganda up to June 2010, where she was also involved in social protection and health issues.
