Shem is currently the Grants & Contracts manager for THRiVE and is responsible for; pre-award processes of resource mobilisation such as supporting faculty / fellows with identifying, sharing, disseminating and supporting the application process of grant applications. He also acts as a link to the college finance department during post award management of college grants
Shem has a wealth of experience in finance and audit, and is passionately involved in research administrative capacity building initiatives including but not limited to trainings and Monitoring and evaluation of projects to enforce compliance

Shem joined Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS) in June 2011 as a Grants and Contracts officer and is currently the Grants & Contracts Manager.
Prior to this, he spent over 2 years as a finance consultant with ACLAIM AFRICA Ltd, a Consultancy Company in Uganda. Prior to joining ACLAIM AFRICA, he worked as an external auditor with Carr Stanyer Sims & Company, Certified Public Accountants
