On the 8th – 9th march 2016 a team from Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA) made a site visit to Makerere University College of Health Sciences THRiVE’s prime institution. The purpose of the visit was to Clarify Role of AESA in the implementation and management of the DELTAS Africa programme, build a relationship between AESA and THRiVE-2 staff and highlight key policies and financial governance requirements that are important in the implementation and management of the programme.
The team met with the University administration; Vice chancellor prof. John Dumba Sentamu, University bursar Augustine Tamale, director directorate of graduate studies Prof M. Byinza, procurement officer Mr. Paul Agaba, College principal Prof. Charles Ibingira, deputy principal, Dr. Isaac Okullo and all finance officers from THRiVE-2 partner institutions.
