These meetings are open to members of the consortia funded by Wellcome Trust. Each fellow gives an oral or poster presentation. The annual administrative meeting is attended by consortium members, consortium coordinator, administrator, IT and financial officers along with any other administrative staff. The purpose of this meeting is to share experiences, solve problems and evaluate consortium’s activities.
Committee meetings also take place during the annual meeting. Advisory board members and Wellcome trust officers are invited to attend.
The 6th THRiVE Annual General Meeting held at the NIMR Research Institute from 19-21 August 2014 was officially opened by the Director General, National institute for Medical Research Mwanza, Dr. Mwele Malecela. In her speech, she commended THRiVE on the commendable work done in building capacity of health researchers in the region. She further emphasized the importance of creating research networks with regional and international partners in the quest to build capacity in leadership in science and research as well as research management and research administration.
