THRiVE extends its hearty congratulations to its new PhD graduates, Dr. Ruby Mcharo and Dr. Robert Kaaya, upon being conferred with doctorates from Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo). The duo received their awards during the university’s 24th graduation ceremony held on November 18, 2023.
For his Ph.D. fellowship under THRiVE, Dr. Kaaya explored the influence of Plasmodium falciparum histidine-rich protein-II gene polymorphisms and sub-microscopic parasitemia on mRDT performance in heterogeneous transmission settings towards malaria pre-elimination in Tanzania. On the other hand, Dr. Mcharo examined the prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and sexual behaviour among young adults attending higher learning institutions in the Mbeya region, Tanzania.
THRiVE is extremely proud of you and may you continue to inspire generations to come. Best regards for the future.
