RACHEAL NINSIIMA
This week, THRiVE tested its staff and team of research assistants for COVID-19 in a bid to protect their health and safety. During these uncertain times, THRiVE hopes that that testing for COVID-19 antibodies will provide its staff with insight into whether they may have been exposed to the coronavirus
While temperature screening and wearing of face masks remain the most common types of protection against the coronavirus, testing remains the only way one can confirm if he/she has COVID-19. Knowing you’re infected is important to protect your family and the people you encounter. Testing helps reduce the spread of the virus. When someone tests positive for COVID-19, they can be isolated at home or, if needed, in a hospital. Testing is also a key tool follow up with close contacts of cases so that they can self-isolate, monitor for symptoms and get tested.
To ensure the health of its staff, THRiVE will continue to undertake the following precautions:
- Checking temperatures of staff to make sure they are healthy.
- Providing hand sanitizer for use
- Follow social distancing at the workplace.
- Ensuring provision of face masks
- Routinely disinfect surfaces and equipment
